Bikers from capital city motorcycle club visited The Zamarr Institute to see the kids and get a better understanding of what goes on at the center. At about noon on 19th May 2011, 10 bikers from the club came to the center- attracting some attention in their biker outfits and with their power bikes. They were introduced to the children and staff and had a short lecture on autism and the work we do at Zamarr. They promised to use their platform to generate awareness on autism in Nigeria. To this end, the bikers offered to help organise an event to raise awareness for autism before the end of the year.
We had before now approached them to partner with us in organising a race for autism awareness as part of our fifth anniversary celebrations in December. The visit ended with them presenting some gift items to the kids and taking pictures with members of staff.
