It had always been her idea to establish a centre of high standard like she had seen in the United States and the United Kingdom. World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) 2013
World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD) celebrated on April 2 annually was adopted by the United Nations in 2007. This day has been set aside to highlight the need to help improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the autism spectrum disorder so they can lead full and meaningful lives.Since 2007, the Zamarr Institute continually strives to create awareness and sensitize Nigerians on autism and other related behavioural disabilities through activities such as village talks in the rural areas, workshops, seminars and trainings, and fundraising events.

To commemorate 2013 World Autism Awareness Day and celebrate World Autism Awareness Month, the Zamarr Institute will be having the following

  • A family fun day and bazaar on April 1,
  • A road show on April 2, 9am-12noon
  • A forum for parents of children with Autism on April 11 at A-class park, Wuse 2

These activities have been lined up to raise advocacy for children in Nigeria living with Autism and other related learning and developmental disabilities.

A world class facility for children living with Special Needs. This building is projected to cater for 100 children and provide assisted living (boarding facilities) for 30 students. We would like to state that this world class cent re will be the first of its kind in Nigeria and will expand access for diagnosis and to quality education for children with special education needs in Nigeria in conformity with the global standards.
